“Tell the story of the mountain you climbed, your words could become a page in someone else’s survival guide.”- Morgan Harper Nichols
4Damani was created by Crystal-Gayle and Miguel Williams in October 2018, after experiencing the death of their first child, Damani, in September 2018. After recognizing how unmentionable baby loss and grief are in Jamaica, coupled with the lack of support and resources, 4Damani was established to acknowledge and support grieving parents, in honour of their son.
The aim of 4Damani is to break the silence and stigma surrounding pregnancy and infant loss in Jamaica, by sharing stories, so persons know they’re not alone.
This topic doesn’t get enough recognition and is unmentionable in many cultures, including our own. This isn’t a club no parent should have to join, but if you have found yourself here, please read our story, those of others and be comforted that you are not alone. If you would like to receive support, please contact us for more details.
Our goal is to break the silence and stigma surrounding pregnancy and infant loss in Jamaica. We are on a mission to provide resources and support to parents who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss, and to educate those external to the baby loss community, how to provide support and care to their loved ones.
A Jamaica that embraces and supports grieving parents and puts measures in place to safeguard the lives of babies, to ensure no family experiences this trauma.
